Mattoo seeks justice for marginalized women

For women who have experienced violence, knowing they are being listened to — and believed — is often the most important thing.

And that is especially true for women living in Canada with a precarious immigration status, said Deepa Mattoo, the legal director at the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic in Toronto and a longtime advocate for women’s rights.
