Ottawa's legal spending totals $726 million in 2015-16

Ottawa doled out $725 million on court awards and settlements, including paying half a billion dollars to First Nations; tens of millions to the Lac-Megantic victims; and $2.5 million for a secret Department of Justice (DOJ) deal arising from a “malicious prosecution” — possibly of wrongfully convicted Ivan Henry.
