■ Susan Kushneryk is joining Hansell LLP as a partner and Hansell McLaughlin Advisory as government relations adviser. She was most recently director of policy in the office of the attorney general of Ontario. In addition, Milton Chan is new counsel with Hansell LLP and will be senior consultant with Hansell McLaughlin Advisory.

■ Minden Gross LLP has hired two new associates, Lauren Lee and Carrington Hickey. Lee joins the bankruptcy and insolvency group and will focus primarily on commercial banking and insolvency law, debtor/creditor rights, security issues and contract disputes. Hickey assists employers with issues such as hiring, discipline, promotions, terminations and workplace safety.

■ Torys LLP has named a new partner and new associate for its Calgary office. Partner Kyle Kashuba’s practice keys on disputes and restructuring in the oil and gas sector, with an emphasis on financial insolvency and corporate restructuring and commercial litigation. New associate Carla Hunt focuses on corporate and commercial matters, project development and private mergers and acquisitions, primarily for clients in the oil and gas and energy sectors.

■ John Picone is a new associate in the litigation group at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. He focuses on complex securities and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on shareholder disputes, oppression claims, class actions and injunctions.

■ Ronak Shah has been hired as Naymark Law’s first associate. His practice focuses on a wide range of civil and commercial litigation and regulatory matters.
