■ Matthew Epp is a new partner at Borden Ladner Gervais. He joins the firm’s commercial litigation group in its Calgary office. Epp’s practice focuses on complex securities litigation, class actions and commercial and shareholder disputes.

■ Andrew Parley, Melanie Baird and Matthew Lerner have joined Lenczner Slaght as partners. Parley’s practice covers a wide range of industries from securities and finance to energy to construction, infrastructure and logistics. Baird is focused on commercial litigation encompassing intellectual property, professional liability and regulation, class actions, securities, insurance and technology. Lerner’s practice involves complex commercial litigation, real estate disputes, employment litigation and insolvency matters.

■ Lenczner Slaght has hired five associates, Kelly Haden, Laurel Hogg, Patrick Healy, Margaret Robbins and Madison Robins. Haden’s practice focuses on professional liability and regulation, class actions and the creative industry. Hogg works in civil litigation, commercial, intellectual property and professional liability. Healy’s practice ranges from copyright law, to fiduciary and partnership law and to insurance and professional liability matters. Robbins has a background in administrative and Aboriginal law. Robins focuses on commercial disputes and insurance and also criminal and professional liability matters.

■ Tera Li is a new associate in Cassels Brock & Blackwell’s Toronto tax group. Li focuses on advising Canadian and international clients on domestic and international tax planning structures and restructuring.
