■ Maria Scarfo has been unanimously reappointed managing partner of Blaney McMurtry LLP for a second three-year term. Scarfo is an experienced litigator who defends claims for insurance companies, public authorities and corporations.

■ Antonio Di Domenico has returned to Fasken Martineau after a two-year stint as counsel to Canada’s Commissioner of Competition. During his appointment, Di Domenico represented the commissioner in respect of complaints and investigations, enforcement matters, the review of mergers, major litigated proceedings and the negotiation of remedies and orders. Di Domenico will serve as regional leader of the national antitrust/competition and marketing group and a partner in the litigation, class action and white collar defence and investigations groups.

■ Maxime Faille, leader of Gowling WLG’s firm-wide Aboriginal law group, has relocated from the firm’s Ottawa office to Vancouver. The move comes in response to the rapidly expanding needs of the firm’s indigenous clients across British Columbia.

■ Four new associates, Lauren Binhammer, Maya Borooah, Kenneth Grad and Alex Smith are joining Henein Hutchison LLP. Binhammer focuses on criminal, regulatory and appellate litigation. Borooah has experience working on a variety of matters at all levels of court. Grad previously spent three years as a litigator with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City. Smith focuses on civil and regulatory proceedings in a variety of areas.

■ Derek Mah has joined Harper Grey LLP’s critical injury group as an associate.
