A provincial support payment watchdog with teeth

In Ontario, court-ordered and court-filed domestic contracts for child and spousal support payments are enforced by the Family Responsibility Office (FRO). The mandate of this provincial watchdog is to collect payments and distribute them to waiting recipients. FRO handles more than 180,000 cases annually, has 300,000 clients and collects $650 million in support payments on a yearly basis.
