Retrial ordered after judge fails to provide guidance to self-represented litigant

The Ontario Court of Appeal ordered a new trial for a self-represented litigant convicted of drug possession and trafficking after finding the trial judge failed to assist the man in understanding a Charter breach of his right to counsel.
