Stéphanie Lapierre is the newest partner of the Montreal litigation group at Stikeman Elliott.

She comes to the firm from Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Montreal, where she was also a partner and co-chair of its commercial litigation section.

A graduate of McGill University’s law school who was called to the Quebec bar in 2000, Lapierre’s practice is primarily focused on securities, and financial and commercial transactions.

She represents clients in courts of first instance and in appeals of cases of hostile takeover bids, contested takeovers, shareholder disputes, alleged breaches of the Securities Act, plans of arrangement, dissent rights and liquidations by court order.

Lapierre is vice-chair of the commercial litigation committee of the Canadian Bar Association’s business law section, and co-chair of the international litigation subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s business law section.
