Cox & Palmer partner picked to lead defence lawyers group

 Jade Spalding, a partner in Cox & Palmer's Fredericton office, has been selected as president of Canadian Defence Lawyers for 2017-18.

Canadian Defence Lawyers is a voice and a resource for civil defence lawyers providing a national perspective, quality defence-specific education and networking opportunities.

On the board of directors for the past six years, most recently as vice-president, Spalding's involvement with Canadian Defence Lawyers ensures he is always current on the latest legal developments from across the country.

Spalding is a member of the Defense Research Institute and also serves on the board of directors of the Canadian Bar Insurance Association.

He has spent his legal career representing the interests of insurers in New Brunswick. His practice includes defending claims under automobile, homeowner, disability, commercial general liability and professional liability policies. He also has extensive experience acting as coverage counsel for insurers, and he has handled cases for the insurance industry at all levels of courts in New Brunswick.
