Bennett Jones goes to PwC for new vice-chair

Gino Scapillati, vice-chair of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Canada, is joining Bennett Jones as vice-chair, strategy and innovation, effective July 1. He will be based in the law firm’s Toronto office, supporting Bennett Jones nationally and globally.

Scapillati has held a number of leadership and governance positions at PwC, including national managing partner, and he was a member of the global board of the PwC Network.

Gino brings tremendous business and market insight and this will help us stay at the forefront of innovation and client service."

Scapillati, who is a fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants, also has a bachelor of commerce degree from McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business. His career at PwC began in 1981, and he was admitted to partnership in 1990.

He has worked with senior executives and corporate directors of some of Canada’s largest companies to help them maximize value and execute business strategy.

Scapillati is a member of the national council of the C.D. Howe Institute and the Ontario Business Advisory Council of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. He has been a frequent presenter in the directors education program of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.
