Two new associates join Robins Appleby

Robins Appleby has added two new associates, Jonathan Preece and Ladislav Kovac.

Preece has joined as an associate in our litigation group, where he will focus on real estate, corporate commercial, construction, condominium and class action litigation.

Prior to joining Robins Appleby, Preece practised at an international law firm where he gained experience in a wide range of complex civil and commercial litigation including shareholder disputes, class actions and construction litigation. He received his juris doctor from Western University in 2014 and was admitted to the Ontario bar in 2015.

While in law school, Preece spent a summer working at the embassy of Canada to the United States and was the Canadian managing editor of the Canada-United States Law Journal. Prior to commencing his legal career, Preece obtained a bachelor's degree and a master's in political science and worked for a non-governmental organization in the area of international security and defence.

Kovac has joined the firm's real estate group.

Kovac previously worked as an associate with a boutique real estate law firm for three years. He has experience in secured lending, land assemblies, acquisitions, sales and other real estate matters.

He received his juris doctor from the University of Toronto in 2013 and was admitted to the Ontario bar in 2014.
