Breaking News > In a private international ruling which clarifies what constitutes submission to the jurisdiction of a foreign court under Quebec civil law, the Supreme Court of Canada has 8-1 dismissed the appeal of a Quebec businessman who challenged the Quebec courts’ recognition and enforcement of a Utah court default judgment requiring him to pay more than $1.2 million for breach for contract in that state: Barer v.
