Ontario rethinks corporate and commercial law statutes

The Ontario government is looking at making changes to Ontario’s corporate and commercial law statutes as part of its new legislation on cutting red tape.

Economic Growth and Development Minister Brad DuguidBill 154, the Cutting Unnecessary Red Tape Act, is currently before the Ontario Legislature. If passed, the bill will implement certain recommendations contained in a report issued by the provincial Business Law Advisory Council (BLAC) in fall 2016.
