With a passion for the outdoors and for recreational activities including paddling, sailing and swimming, Hewson is a good fit for the organization that works with communities, non-governmental organizations, the private sector and all levels of government, including First Nations governments, to develop proactive legal solutions to protect and sustain the environment.

Hewson graduated from the McGill University faculty of law in 2016 and articled with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change. She has a history of working with First Nations clients, having spent a semester at the University of British Columbia's Indigenous Community Legal Clinic in Vancouver and having worked with a council of First Nations and Tribes in Yukon and Alaska to develop a governance strategy for managing the Yukon River Watershed.
