To honour the recent retirement of founding partner Bill Holburn, Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang LPP created a new scholarship fund at the University of British Columbia's Allard School of Law.

The $50,000 gift will allow the school to offer $5,000 scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence and who are entering their first year of studies.

“Our firm is pleased to establish a scholarship that will help attract the best and brightest students to the Allard School of Law,” said Bruno De Vita, managing partner of Alexander Holburn. “In addition, the scholarship honours the legacy of Bill Holburn, our founding partner who recently retired after close to 50 years of practice. Bill was devoted to establishing excellence in service to our clients and this dedication is reflected in this scholarship, which we hope will serve as an inspiration to incoming students.”

Catherine Dauvergne, dean of the school, thanked the firm for its donation. “The Allard School of Law is grateful for this generous gift in support of our students,” she said. “Entrance scholarships are a powerful recruitment tool which allow us to compete with other leading law schools for top students.”
