Tuesday, October 17, 2017 @ 2:01 PM | By Carolyn Gruske

Eric Smith has joined the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (CWTA) as its vice-president of regulatory affairs.

Most recently, Smith was at Blackberry Ltd. where he served as head of government relations (Canada) and, before that, senior director compliance (legal). Prior to joining Blackberry, he was at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (now Dentons).

"We are thrilled to welcome Eric to the team," said CWTA president and CEO Robert Ghiz.

"Continued investment in wireless infrastructure is critical to Canada's innovation agenda. Eric's practical approach to regulatory issues will serve us well as we continue to advocate for public policy that supports economic and social growth in Canada."

CWTA represents companies who provide services and products across the wireless sector.
