John Russo is the new managing partner of the Mississauga, Ont.-based business law firm Pallett Valo LLP.

He will be supported in his new role by past managing partner Anne Kennedy, who will now act as deputy managing partner.

Russo has been with Pallett Valo since he joined the firm's commercial litigation practice as a first year associate in 1999.

“During my years at Pallett Valo I have seen the firm grow and develop into the successful and well respected firm it is today through the hard work and commitment of the partners, associates and staff. I am honoured that my partners have the trust and confidence in me to take on the role of managing partner and I am excited by the opportunity to lead Pallett Valo through the next few years. We are growing in size and expertise and we look forward to playing an important role in the success of both our community and our clients,” said Russo.

Russo's appointment is part of the firm's succession planning process. Pallett Valo is working to prepare its younger lawyers to take on leadership positions.

“I am very proud of our firm, of our excellent lawyers and our staff. Pallett Valo has recently confirmed its status as a top regional firm and is poised to build on that reputation. With John’s leadership I know great things are ahead,” said Kennedy.

“As we undergo an orderly transition internally, one thing that will never change is our commitment to providing outstanding service to our clients while ensuring that we remain compassionate corporate citizens to all around us within the markets we serve.”
