Appeal Court upholds acquittal of teacher who secretly filmed female students

The Ontario Court of Appeal has upheld the acquittal of a London high school teacher who secretly filmed female students’ chests and cleavage in a decision which, counsel says, provides an overview of how voyeurism offences will be interpreted.

In R. v. Jarvis 2017 ONCA 778, the court heard that the respondent, Ryan Jarvis, made a number of videos of female students and one female teacher using a camera pen. The students were between 14 and 18 years old, and they were filmed in various places...
