Expect a swift Charter challenge to new Quebec laws requiring Muslim women who cover their faces to unveil when accessing public services, legal minds say.

Montreal human rights lawyer Julius GreyProminent lawyers and legal scholars say the new law, which dictates that people show their faces when providing or receiving public services such as hospital care, public transit and library usage, is unconstitutional and unfairly targets Quebec’s relatively small number of devout Muslim women who cover their faces with a niqab or burka.
