Law societies must do more to help addicted, mentally ill members, Bryant urges

Provincial and territorial law societies must stop treating addiction and mental illness among members as a “character flaw” and come together in stomping out stigma, downing the walls of isolation and helping those wanting help, says lawyer Michael Bryant, a former Ontario attorney general, and a recovering alcoholic.
