The Ontario Bar Association's executive director and counsel, Steve Pengelly, has decided to retire.

Pengelly served with the association for over a decade. He also was a sole practitioner and worked in government, holding the titles of chief of staff to Premier Ernie Eves and chief of staff to the minister of finance and deputy premier.

His departure will be made official pending the appointment of his successor, which is expected to occur by the end of 2017 or early 2018.
