Norton Rose Fulbright partner joins public service

In February 2018, Ava G. Yaskiel will have a new job.

Yaskiel, who is a partner and global head of corporate, mergers and acquisitions and securities at Norton Rose Fulbright, has been named as the incoming associate deputy minister of finance for the government of Canada.

Yaskiel's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, related party transactions, corporate governance issues, corporate finance and advisory mandates for both issuers and investment bankers.

Before joining Norton Rose Fullbright, Yaskiel held various legal positions at the Ontario Securities Commission including senior legal counsel and acting director.

Yaskiel earned her bachelor of laws from Osgoode Hall and her master of laws from the University of Cambridge. She also has a certificate in mining law from Osgoode.
