Technology entrepreneur Michael Hyatt is now working with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP.

With the title entrepreneur in residence, Hyatt will provide practical insights and guidance to emerging technology clients. He will also serve as a champion for the firm’s Nitro technology startup program and advise its leadership team

Hyatt is the co-founder of BlueCat Networks, which provides enterprise domain name system (DNS) services and is the founder of Dyadem International Ltd. (now part of IHS Inc.) which offers operational risk management (ORM) and quality risk management (QRM) software.

“Michael’s impressive experience, vast network and deep understanding of the tech and entrepreneurship communities will be of tremendous value to the firm’s clients,” said Brock Gibson, chair of Blakes.

“I believe emerging technology is at the epicentre of Canada’s future,” said Hyatt.

“With the Nitro program, Blakes is providing an unrivalled depth of expertise to emerging technology companies and removing barriers to help them achieve their goals.

“What has inspired me most about Nitro is that it’s being done for the right reasons — Blakes wants to see these businesses succeed. Because if these companies succeed, Canada succeeds.”
