Michael Foderick was one of seven people appointed to the board of directors of the National Capital Commission (NCC).

A Toronto-based associate at McCarthy Tétrault LLP, Foderick specializes in municipal and real estate law and maintains a planning and development law practice, which includes providing advice and advocacy in matters pertaining to planning approvals and municipal law.

His three-year mandate on the NCC board began on Dec. 17, 2017.

The NCC makes decisions about the use and development of urban lands in the Ottawa area based on considerations of environmental fragility, sustainability and best practices.

“With their varied experiences and training, the new members of the National Capital Commission's board of directors will help the Crown corporation ensure that Canada’s Capital Region remains a dynamic and inspiring source of pride for all Canadians for generations to come,” said Minister of Canadian Heritage Mélanie Joly .
