Bill to create framework on PTSD positive step, employment lawyer says

A bill to establish a federal framework addressing the symptoms and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a positive step toward awareness of mental health issues faced by first responders, a Toronto employment and human rights lawyer says.

Bill C-211, the Federal Framework on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Act, reached its second reading on Dec. 14, 2017. The private member’s bill, introduced by Conservative MP Todd Doherty, was inspired by first responders who deal with PTSD as part of their work.
