Mills & Mills LLP, a firm that has been based in Toronto for over 130 years, has promoted two of its members to partner status.

Denise Robertson

Denise Robertson, Mills & Mills

Denise Robertson started with the firm as an articling student. Since being called to the bar, she has worked as part of the business law group, focusing on private business, corporate and regulatory law. Robertson has also developed practices in the design and health sectors, and she serves as chair of the Mills & Mills design law group. She also advises not-for-profit and charitable organizations such as churches and health sector foundations about bylaw revisions and governance matters.

“Denise has impressed the partners with her efforts and success in marketing her practice and the firm and I look forward to her taking on an increased leadership role in our business group,” said managing partner David Mills.

Toni Wharton, Mills & Mills

Toni Wharton is a member of the firm’s family law department. Before moving to Canada, she was a member of the bar of England and Wales and practised as a family law barrister. At Mills & Mills, Wharton represents clients in all areas of family law, including child custody, access, matrimonial financial and property disputes and represents them in mediation and arbitration and court proceedings. She is trained as a collaborative lawyer.

“Her hard work and dedication to our clients and to the firm have been instrumental in the impressive growth of the department,” said Mills.

“On behalf of all of the partners, I congratulate Denise and Toni on this milestone in their careers.”
