Committee to review Alberta’s court interpreter system

Concerns about the training and the effectiveness of court interpreters has caused Alberta’s Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General to take a closer look at how the court interpretation system functions.

At some point this year, the province is expected to hear from a committee that was launched in late 2017 whose purpose is to “look at the issues surrounding court interpreter services and to come up with solutions.”
