Disclosure of family trust at centre of appeal in P.E.I. divorce case

Forcing financial disclosure from a non-party in divorce proceedings was front and centre in an East Coast appeal involving a woman wanting to know the value of a family trust set up by her ex’s late father.

Creighan v. MacPhee 2018 PECA 1, decided Jan. 18 in Charlottetown, involves Alan MacPhee and Karen Creighan, a couple who married in 1997, separated in 2008 and are now in a commonplace legal tussle over who gets what following matrimonial collapse.
