Along with presenting panels and seminars to the legal community, the 2018 Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) National Conference and In-House Counsel World (ICW) Summit is looking to hear from those on the cutting edge of legal technology.

Taking place as part of the event, The Pitch 2018 is a competition where legal technology startups present their business and technology ideas to a panel of experts, including lawyers and legal entrepreneurs.

The startups compete for a grand prize which includes the opportunity to pitch to a Nextlaw Ventures managing director, up to $120,000 of free IBM Cloud and Watson Cognitive Computing services for 12 months, mentorships and technical support. There is also a Gowling WLG fan favourite award that earns the winner a Gowling WLG legal health checkup.

Nominations are open until Feb. 23.

More details about the contest and the submission process are available on the website.

The Pitch is run by the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and sponsored by LexisNexis Canada (the publisher of The Lawyer’s Daily), Gowling WLG and NextLaw Ventures, the legal technology consulting organization founded by Dentons
