The new firm has offices in Toronto and Mississauga, Ont., with a focus on employment law.

The partners have experience representing a range of small to large-sized employers and multinational organizations across a number of industries, including manufacturing, logistics, health care, energy and technology.

“We are very excited about our new venture. We saw a need in the marketplace for a firm that focuses on providing premier service while building sustainable client relationships and we knew we could deliver,” said Piccolo.

“We are strategic partners in our clients’ growth and prosperity. It’s our belief that our relationships with clients are equally as important as the counsel we provide.”

Some of the main services the firm expects to provide are assisting companies with their termination and layoff strategies, including individual and group terminations and layoffs; drafting and reviewing employment agreements; litigating wrongful dismissals, injunctive proceedings and contractual breaches; offering advice about attendance and disability management, corporate restructuring and change management; meeting compliance and legislative objectives; managing discipline and performance programs; and reviewing and deploying policy changes.

Additionally, both Piccolo and Heath offer in-person and online tutorials and seminars about key employment law issues.

“The essence of practising employment law is helping people to avoid conflict wherever possible and, when conflict is unavoidable, to resolve those issues quickly,” said Heath.

“Our focus is on providing detailed strategy and execution so that our clients can focus on their business imperatives.”
