Panel debates Jordan, Charter breaches

Despite its bright lines about timelines, the R. v. Jordan 2016 SCC 27 decision has created murkiness about seriousness and exceptionality, not to mention stays and alternative Charter remedies.

These were among the topics discussed on Feb. 8, 2018, during a Toronto Lawyers Association panel discussion titled “The Charter: Defending, Prosecuting and Theorizing on Rights and Remedies.”
