Gaylene Bobb has been appointed as a judge in the province of Alberta.

The partner at Red Deer-based Chapman Riebeek LLP will sit on the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta in Edmonton.

Justice Bobb has maintained a varied general practice, with a focus on family law. Her preferred working style is to resolve issues through the use of collaborative techniques. She is a member of the Association of Collaborative Lawyers of Central Alberta and was its secretary from 2008 to 2011.

Justice Bobb was a volunteer lawyer and a board member of Loaves and Fishes Benevolent Society. She has been a legal aid roster lawyer and a member of the Red Deer Regional Legal Aid Committee. Justice Bobb also served as a volunteer lawyer with the Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic.

She replaces Justice Ritu Khullar, who was appointed to the Court of Appeal of Alberta effective March 12, 2018.
