N.L. tort for non-consensual online sharing of intimate images would give power to victims, lawyers say

With advancing technology, the ever-expanding realm of social media and the seemingly infinite world of cyberspace, the time has come to give victims of “revenge porn” the ability to sue, say lawyers of the possible new law for Newfoundland and Labrador.

This view follows the government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s announcement that law-makers are planning to introduce legislation to enable victims of the non-consensual online sharing of intimate images to go after their antagonists in civil court.
