Conflict of interest changes would mean big adjustment for Manitoba MLAs, experts say

Manitoba’s provincial politicians could face a steep learning curve should recommended changes to its dated conflict of interest laws become reality, experts say.

In the report, which was released in April, Manitoba Conflict of Interest Commissioner Jeffrey Schnoor calls for the modernization of The Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Conflict of Interest Act, which he calls “the oldest and arguably the weakest conflict of interest legislation in Canada.”
