DLA Piper (Canada) adds associate

Michelle Thomarat has joined DLA Piper (Canada) LLP as an associate.

Thomarat works out of the Toronto office and in the litigation, arbitration and investigations group.

She brings a broad litigation practice to the firm, having previously worked at a Toronto-based boutique law firm where she did civil litigation and labour law, and at a national firm in Calgary, where she was in the litigation department.  

Thomarat, who has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, and the Law Society Tribunal in Toronto, articled at the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, where she assisted trial judges on a broad range of matters including complex commercial litigation, criminal law, defamation, professional negligence and appeals.

She also spent time working for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and serving as a research assistant for several professors at the University of Ottawa.
