Diamond and Diamond Lawyers LLP, a firm that started in the personal injury space and expanded to offer real estate, wills, immigration and family law services has now added a commercial and civil litigation division.

Darryl Singer, who was head of Toronto-based Singer Barristers Professional Corporation, has joined Diamond and Diamond, as has his entire team.

Singer has experience with franchise matters; debt collection, mortgage enforcement, partnership and shareholder disputes, real estate litigation, bankruptcy, insolvency, and business restructuring. Recently, he has also added employment law and personal injury to his practice. Singer also serves clients with professional regulation, including representing lawyers in front of their licensing bodies.

“Darryl is the Swiss Army knife of lawyers,” said managing partner, Sandra Zisckind.

“We've been inundated with requests from current clients for additional legal services in this area but wanted to wait until we found the perfect fit.”

Singer teaches at the Ryerson University Law Practice Program and is adjunct faculty at Osgoode Hall, where he teaches several courses including legal ethics. He is also a pro bono volunteer with Law Ontario, and a board member of York Region Law Association and the Osgoode Hall Alumni Association. Currently, he is writing his third legal text book, which is due for publication in January 2019.

“I couldn't be more excited for this next chapter,” said Singer.

“Diamond and Diamond’s corporate culture of tough advocacy for all people aligns perfectly with my career and values.”

As well as adding new services, the firm is planning to add a new office in Calgary.
