Alberta think tank recommends new provincial rules for common law couples

An Alberta-based legal think tank is saying the lack of rules on dividing property for common law couples is creating unnecessary hurdles in the legal system, and it is recommending the provincial government take action to ensure such couples are on a level playing field with married people.
