Bernard Roy has joined Langlois lawyers business law group in its Quebec City office, as a partner.

Roy’s practice is focused primarily on negotiating notices of assessment or draft assessments with tax authorities, tax and estate planning, settling estates, testamentary trusts, estate litigation and providing income tax advice.

He is a member of the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) and the Canadian Tax Foundation. He chairs the APFF luncheon meeting committee for the Quebec City region and also participates in organizing tax symposiums for the APFF. He regularly lectures on various tax subjects before members of the APFF.

In addition to his legal training, Roy has completed the In-Depth Tax Course given by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), a comprehensive Canadian tax training program. Before joining Langlois lawyers, he was a partner at a major Quebec law firm.

“The continued growth in the activities of our clients has generated a significant need for sophisticated tax law advice. The arrival of Bernard Roy is thus excellent news. Recognized for his thoroughness, client-oriented approach and understanding of the world of business, he brings high-level expertise to our seasoned business law team,” said Jean-François Gagnon, chief executive officer of Langlois lawyers.
