Caroline Deschênes has joined Langlois lawyers as a partner in the litigation group in its Montreal office.

With extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation and a keen interest in class actions, privacy issues, access to information, construction law, product liability and professional liability, Deschênes is often called upon to represent a variety of corporations before courts of first instance and appeal in Quebec, as well as administrative tribunals.

In the course of her practice involving privacy matters, she has advised clients on issues regarding the collection, use, disclosure and transborder transfer of personal information, as well as cybersecurity, access to information and electronic communications.

She has acted in a number of class actions involving issues of pharmaceutical liability, consumer law and civil liability. She has also participated in proceedings involving insurers and professionals, particularly before disciplinary bodies.

“We are very enthusiastic about announcing the arrival of Caroline Deschênes in our Montreal office. She has high-level expertise in practice areas that are very strategic for our firm. Her contribution to our litigation group will be significant. We wish her a warm welcome,” said Jean-François Gagnon, chief executive officer of the firm.
