Reference by the Crown to the Court of Appeal in respect of the conviction of the accused, Biddle. In July 1986, PB was attacked in her apartment bathroom, strangled, and left unconscious in a pool of blood. She awoke and struggled with the assailant in the course of fleeing her apartment. In December 1986, the accused was arrested in the vicinity of another similar attack and charged with offences related to the incident involving PB.
