Langlois lawyers announced that Marie-Pier Desmeules and Kathleen Houlihan have joined its litigation and employment and labour law groups in its Montreal office.

Desmeules has joined the firm’s litigation group. She acts for a number of corporations in a variety of litigious matters in the areas of civil, commercial and public law, in files involving contractual liability, product liability, commercial fraud, privacy and access to information. She has acted in several class actions involving allegations of false representations in advertising. She has also been involved in proceedings concerning the termination of major commercial agreements. She takes a particular interest in the impact of new technologies on the practice of law.

Houlihan is a member of the employment and labour law group. She works primarily with employers in both unionized and non-unionized settings, advising them on all labour law matters, including the application of labour standards, employment agreements, restrictive covenants and disciplinary measures.

“We are pleased to welcome these talented young lawyers to our team in Montreal. Both of them bring added depth to their respective practice areas. On behalf of all members of our firm, I warmly welcome them into the Langlois community,” stated Jean-François Gagnon, chief executive of Langlois lawyers.
