Dutton Brock hires two associates for insurance practice

Dutton Brock announced that Aly Pabani and Kate O’Malley joined the firm as associates.

Pabani formerly worked at a boutique insurance defence firm in Toronto and gained extensive experience on a broad range of insurance defence matters including occupier’s liability, product liability, fraud actions, coverage, personal injury and property matters. He continues to develop his broad insurance defence practice. He has frequently attended the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, small claims court and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

Prior to receiving his dual JD from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit, School of Law in 2017, Pablani earned a BA from McMaster University in 2011.

Originally from Ireland, O’Malley joins Dutton Brock after three years of practising insurance defence law as in-house staff counsel with an international insurance company. Prior to this, she worked at an established plaintiff firm in Toronto for several years, initially as a law clerk, then articling student, and following her call to the bar, as an associate.

O’Malley is developing a broad-based insurance defence practice and has experience in accident benefits, auto bodily injury, commercial general liability and subrogated claims. She has a developing interest in construction litigation and coverage issues.
