Gowling WLG announced that Andrew Bratt has joined the firm as a partner and Toronto leader of the employment, labour and equalities group.

Bratt’s practice focuses on all aspects of employment law, including employment-related litigation, human rights proceedings, employment standards claims, workers’ compensation proceedings and employment issues surrounding corporate transactions. He has appeared before several administrative tribunals, courts, arbitrators and mediators.

Bratt speaks frequently on a broad range of employment law topics and has lectured on law at Queen’s University, Western University and at the University of Toronto. He has also been a regular contributor to The Duty to Accommodate in Employment, the leading text on employment law (Canada Law Book), which has been cited in several arbitration and court decisions across Canada.

Bratt is also a certified legal project manager.

“An accomplished and widely regarded employment lawyer, Andrew appreciates the importance of acting as a strategic partner to his clients,” said Mark Ledwell, managing partner of Gowling WLG’s Toronto office. “With his strong understanding of the employment and labour challenges that many businesses face today, he is well-equipped to help organizations develop and implement proactive and practical initiatives that address a wide range of workplace issues.”
