DLA Piper (Canada) LLP announced that Marie Ribière has joined the firm’s Montreal office as an associate in the commercial group.

Ribière practises corporate and commercial law in particular with matters relating to mergers and acquisitions (M&A). She has experience assisting clients on a day-to-day basis with respect to their current legal needs, as well as in each phase of their company’s growth: corporate financing, negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts and M&A. Ribière also acts for clients in connection with corporate reorganizations in the context of tax planning.

Prior to joining the firm, Ribière articled and practised at a Montréal-based law firm specializing in commercial, transactional and real estate law. She also worked over a period of two years at a boutique tax law firm where she gained significant experience in tax and succession planning matters.

While completing a master’s degree in business law at the University of Lyon II in France, Ribière furthered her studies in the field of international law with an exchange to the University of Beijing. She completed her Quebec law studies in 2015 at the University of Montreal, where she specialized in business law. She was called to the Quebec bar in 2017.
