Monday, November 05, 2018 @ 1:51 PM | By John Chunn

Robichaud’s announced that Minu Walia has joined the criminal defence firm as an associate.

Walia completed her bachelor of arts degree in political science and Canadian studies at McGill University and graduated with distinction. During her time at McGill, Wali interned at a grassroots non-governmental organization (NGO) in New Delhi, for which she was awarded the Carol and Lloyd Darlington Arts Internship.

Walia was a senior editor for the McGill International Review journal and acted as chair for committees in Model United Nations conferences held at McGill. She went on to attend the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, graduating in 2017 with her juris doctor. She completed her articles at a litigation boutique in Toronto.

During her time at Windsor, Walia volunteered with Windsor’s Legal Aid Clinic. In her second year of law school, she competed in Windsor’s Zuber Moot where her passion for criminal law and the Charter was invigorated. That summer, she worked for a sole practitioner in criminal defence in Toronto. Walia continued to develop her keen interest in criminal law and litigation by participating in the Gale Cup Moot.
