Aarondeep Singh Bains of Aird & Berlis LLP has been appointed as the new president of the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto (SABA Toronto). Bains was elected by the SABA Toronto board of directors as the 2018-2019 president after the resignation of Jennifer Asnani earlier this month.

“I look forward to working with our strong board and leading SABA Toronto as we work on important advocacy and diversity issues facing racialized licensees,” said Bains.

Devin Persaud has been elected as the vice-president and Vibhu Sharma has been appointed as treasurer.

In a press release, SABA Toronto said it would like to thank Asnani for her leadership and work over the past few months.
