Top Canadian corporate lawyer joins Cayman Islands firm

Tuesday, November 27, 2018 @ 12:23 PM | By John Chunn

A leading Canadian corporate lawyer with more than 25 years’ experience described as “a formidable name in the market” has joined Ogier’s Cayman Islands team.

David McIntyre was most recently a senior partner in Norton Rose Fulbright’s Toronto office — he has held senior in-house roles as well as his time in private practice with Norton Rose Fulbright, and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt.

McIntyre’s new role will be split between Ogier’s Cayman corporate and commercial legal team and the firm’s director services team.

Bradley Kruger, a partner in Ogier’s Cayman corporate and commercial team, said: “We are delighted to welcome a lawyer of David’s experience and reputation to our team.

“We continue to see significant activity within the natural resources and commodity sectors where the international nature of the operations and assets means that offshore structuring is routinely employed.

“David joins our strong Cayman corporate team, which is backed by Cayman-qualified attorneys in the Asian and European time zones, as part of our targeted growth strategy and we look forward to making more announcements about growth in the coming weeks.”

McIntyre’s admission to the Cayman bar is pending, the firm said.
