Ex-privacy commissioner Stoddart joins Fasken privacy and cybersecurity group

Fasken announced on Nov. 26 that Jennifer Stoddart, who served as the privacy commissioner of Canada from 2003 to 2013, has joined the firm as a strategic adviser.

Stoddart has unparalleled experience in the privacy field. She previously held the position of president of the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, responsible for the privacy and access to information in Quebec. Under her leadership as privacy commissioner of Canada, Stoddart undertook ground-breaking work in the development and application of privacy law in Canada and provided seminal guidance to organizations, government and individuals.
