Tuesday, December 04, 2018 @ 1:30 PM | By John Chunn

Davies announced that Aaron Atkinson has joined as a partner in the firm’s Toronto office.

Atkinson's practice focuses on public and private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets and securities and corporate governance. Canadian and international corporations, underwriters and investors spanning a wide range of industry sectors — including mining, life sciences and financial services — count on Atkinson for his business-minded and results oriented approach to their complex legal issues.

Atkinson has advised on some of the country’s most high-profile domestic and cross-border transactions, including contested matters such as unsolicited takeover bids and proxy contests, as well as financing transactions, negotiated acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships.

Well versed in corporate governance, Atkinson is regularly called upon to advise boards and board special committees on transactional matters as well as internal investigations and complex governance issues.

Atkinson was previously an instructor of corporate finance and M&A Windsor’s Faculty of Law. He also taught “Mergers and Acquisitions: Emerging Strategies and Regulatory Issues” for the intensive course in Canadian securities law and practice, part of Osgoode Hall Law School’s professional development program.

Atkinson received his B.A. from the University of Windsor in 1996 and his L.LB from Windsor in 1999. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 2001.
