New partner for BLG’s Calgary office

Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) announced that Nav Dhaliwal is the newest partner in the firm’s securities, capital markets and public companies group.

He rejoins the firm’s team in Calgary where he practised as an associate from 2009-2014.

Dhaliwal has built his career advising clients in many major securities and capital markets transactions, both international and domestic. He has managed foreign counsel as the lead Canadian counsel on a variety of international regulatory and diligence matters.

“We are eager to welcome Nav back to the team in Calgary. His experience from both the counsel and clients’ side will help us provide our clients with a better understanding of their needs and offer them services honed to benefit their business,” said Frank Callaghan, corporate and capital markets national group leader.

In his corporate finance practice, Dhaliwal has experience in representing both private issuers and publicly traded issuers listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the New York Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange. Hev has acted for issuers, underwriters and investors in financing transactions, including public and private offerings of debt, equity and convertible securities and strategic investments by private equity groups.

Dhaliwal graduated with a B.A. in commerce from the University of Calgary in 2006 and earned his law degree at the University of Calgary in 2009. He was called to the bar in Alberta in 2010.
